Financial aid is very helpful to college students offering work study, scholarships and many other things. But financial aid only covers school - so how are students to pay for the rest of college living?

Carlie Tuiasosopo is 22 and attending Texas State University. Tuiasosopo transferred this previous year and this will have been the third school she has gone to.

"Transferring put me a little behind because some of my credits didn't transfer so I definitely will end up having an extra year of school," Tuiasosopo said. "I have financial aid and thank god I do because I could not pay for classes and school other wise. If I didn’t have financial aid I wouldn’t be here in San Marcos."

Tuiasosopo is studying Advertising and Mass Communication at Texas State and currently is working at Nike in the outlet mall.

“Working at nike, hopefully that will lead to something I can do in advertising. Working in that store, it would be awesome to intern there and do something huge with the company – advertising wise. I worked at a gas station, home depot – the thing about nike is that they have other options and you can move up," Tuiasosopo said.

Tuiasosopo has had some trouble looking for internships and jobs related to advertising.

"It's harder to find a job like that when you're still in school. At least with Nike, my schedule can be flexible and I still have time for school whereas I feel like having a job in advertising would really limit my time," Tuiasosopo said.

Jobs can be hard to schedule around when in school and can be very time consuming. Some students are afraid to commit to a big time job afraid it will not allow them time for school and activities outside of school.

" I want to make/write for/brand promotion. I wanna be part of brand promotion – marketing," Tuiasosopo said. "But I am willing to wait till I graduate to find a job related to my major."
